LEGACY SPIRIT provides an historical overview of the Kansas City Chapter of the Black Panther Party founded by Pete O'Neal (currently in exile in Tanzania). Interviews with past members and file footage offer insight into the original intent of the organization; police brutality; provide food and educational services to members of the community as well as health screenings, all components of the model of self help. The Story is told through the eyes of members from The Kansas City Chapter. The media paints a picture of a radical organization but they were an organization of service. The film also features an interview from Pete O’Neal.
